Description
Ok, let's talk

Armstrong is an aggressive GM, the blues can't rebuild right now because of their contracts they wouldn't be good before like 5 years, but we can do a quick retool with the first round that we got yet.

Meier: resign him for 8 years 9 millions

Would Parayko for Boeser one for one work? I mean Parayko is exactly what Vancouver needs (Even if they're rebuilding) and Boeser is an underrated top 6 players and they both have the same cap hit

In the net I don't like the fact that it will be Binner and Hofer, but I don't think we have too much choice we just need to put good defense in front of them. The flames, oilers, panthers, wild and senators are among the teams that have been linked to Krug, but I have difficulties to evaluate Krug's value.

Flames : Kylington would be reachable, but he's not a sure value we don't even know if he'll be back next year. it would cost more but Weegar would be incredible on the second pair.

Oilers: Could Bouchard be in the return? probably Puljujarvi and for depth I have nothing against him but I don't think he'll ever be more than a third liner

Panthers: Bennett, Reinhart and Duclair are the three players that are available, if we go for one of them I think that we forget the Parayko deal and one of these players would take the place of Boeser. Reinhart would cost a lot but it would be incredible, the blues would automatically become a big threat offensively, but I don't know what we could add to get Reinhart. The most possible one I think is Bennett, Bennett would be a perfect 3C behind Schenn because without O'reilly we miss a 3C. Duclair would be really cool, doesn't take of lot of cap and we're really tight on this aspect (we have to consider that Kyrou and Thomas will cost a little bit less than 6 millions more each next year so it's 11 millions in cap that we add).

Wilds: no idea what could be the return, Greenway would probably be in it and he's a good depth player with grit I wouldn't be against it but I don't know what else.

Sens: Again I don't know who's really on the market except Zaitsev and we really don't want him

If we trade Parayko, I think we should go get Severson on the UFA market because our forward core would be good enough, we would miss a 3C but somebody will probably take that next step to take on that role or we sign someone like Stastny at 1 million that would do a ok job

Meier - Thomas - Kyrou
Buch - Schenn - Boeser
Neighbours/Blais - 3C - Saad
Depth players: Toropchenko, Brown, Alexandrov, Gaudette, prospects.

What do you guys think?

It's very aggressive. Not sure Meier can be extended in this situation given Thomas extension will kick in as well.

As a Canucks fan, I'm all for Hughes-Parayko pairing. Hughes lost Tanev and soon Schenn too, he needs consistent a running mate.

Its competitive for sure.

I think I would take it over the Holtz + first offers we always get.

That would be the offer to beat for sure.
not sure how you guys fit him in under the cap next year though.

I think the Sharks would definitely consider this one. How is Bolducs defensive game? He's racking up points, but I know the Q is more of a scoring league. Still very impressive production.

They would have to move one of their big money defensemen, which in my mind is a net positive even without Meier coming in. But one of their defensemen gone would allow them to fit Meier in pretty easily, and there's been some smoke around that.

Yes but also no, Parako will be 38 when this deal expires, I think he could be an OEL candidate, I would trade OEL for Parako but wouldnt trade anyone else. I know thats steep and harsh but I dont think that would fly

Improving his game off the puck was one of his big goals this year, but yeah tough to say in the Q. I believe the general consensus is that he likely won't be a liability out there, but he's the type of player where he could become a surefire top 6 forward that scores a lot, but probably gives some back, or he settles in as a middle six guy who can provide some offense but keeps things tight. I personally think he's going to do the former, but that's speculation that won't be informed until he gets out of juniors and starts playing against men.

Yes but Boeser has a similar cap hit in this scenario. That said, I'm sure a team with space, and if Parayko willing to move, would probably offer draft compensation. Maybe a team like Buffalo could offer a decent prospect, a 2nd and Lyubushkin.
