We aren't giving you a 1st.

Edit: Dumba+2nd for Schenn is just insane value. That's not going to happen. Greenway+2nd for Boeser retained is manageable

If Shenn is slightly better than Dumba, and he is so cheap, why not sign him rather than trade him? Why not just take Greenway and the 2nd for Boeser?

youre saving 5.15M, that is a reasonable cost for the jump in salary, canucks probably wont resign schenn, this is so MIN can do a run in the playoffs, I added the deals together so the money could work out

Because this way MIN clears cap to have both of the better players, Schenn is worth a 2nd, the value difference is probably more, it is a pretty fair deal in that sense

Minnesota has like $10M in cap space for the trade deadline. I'm NOT paying you for something we don't need (cap space this year). I can guarantee Minnesota wouldn't touch that Dumba+2nd for Schenn deal. That is just awful and unnecessary.

Schenn
55 gp, 3g, 18 assists, +9, fights, kills penalties, fights, 258 hits, 81 Blocks

Dumba
55 gp, 4g, 9 assists, -7, fights, kills penalties, fights, 71 hits, 81 blocks

Like I said, Schenn is slightly better than Dumba, but the real value comes in his reliability, and costing 5.15 less than dumba

I wouldn't say it is awful but it is a fair point

Better defensively, better offensively, more versatile, better all around.

It's awful because it's questionable that Schenn is better than Dumba and then you're adding a 2nd round pick as the difference so Minnesota can obtain meaningless cap space that we already have an abundance of.

"Dumba is not a defender who consistently makes plays or poses a constant offensive threat."

"Dumba is not a natural puck mover, and he isn’t a shutdown defender. He is physical, provides good enough offense, but he can be inconsistent"

"He isn’t a naturally gifted offensive player"

-Frank Seravalli

Schenn plays with everyone from hughes to Wolanin, who was a call up Quad A guy who he put up 3 assists alongside.

Schenn is better defensively, offensively, is more versatile and better all around and is on a worse team doing so
