The most Id be ready to give up for Kane

Created by: EccE
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 23, 2023
Published: Feb. 23, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm not saying this is a "fair price" per se, it's just my personal limit of Kane's acquisition price. Anything higher and I don't want to get him.
Trades
MIN
  1. Kane, Patrick
Additional Details:
Assume he only accepts Minnesota and NYR or something. The point is that there won't be a bidding war.

MIN can take Kane's full cap hit, so Chicago can work as a broker for one more deal. Yay.
CHI
  1. Lambos, Carson
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Essentially a 1st and a 2nd.

Lambos is the one prospect I'm not too fond, so this is personal preference. If the Hawks want someone like Daemon Hunt more, be my guest. But if they mention, say, Faber, the call ends immediately.

This is not the move. Does adding Kane really make this Wild team a cup contender? In my opinion, no. We’d just be sending an almost Guaranteed top 4 LHD and a 2nd round pick for 3 months of an aging star who will walk in free agency as soon as they get bounced from the 1st round. Never been a big fan of trading for rentals unless you’re legitimately one key player away from being a cup favorite. Minnesota’s Stanley Cup window opens 2-3 years from now, there is no reason to waste top prospects and picks on players that will be gone by this time next season.

My exact thought, as well. But since many Wild fans want Kane, I started to wonder, what would be my absolute ceiling for a trade.

My top offer for 3 months of Kane would be Greenway and Steel…and I would chuckle when I submitted it!

That makes sense, this is all for fun and speculation anyways. I’m honestly not sure what my ceiling would be for a Kane trade.
