Description
Dubas isn't getting retention on both unless he wants to sacrifice a higher graded prospect. Chicago gets their 1st by adding in Domi and McCabe retention. Ovchinnikov and Holmberg are ranked prospect #21 and #5 respectively which also covers for Domi and Chicago taking Kerfoot's contract in return.

Pontus Holmberg has no value I guess.. Chicago looking for a 2nd for McCabe. This deal isn't as far off as you think unless you count the heater Domi is on lately lol.

CHI is looking for a 1st + for McCabe. They are looking for a 2nd + for Domi and he is teetering on late 1st territory. I wouldn't hold my breath for a 1st for him, but I also wouldn't be surprised. Add for retention. Either keep Kerfoot, trade him elsewhere, or add for moving out his salary. CHI should have little to no interest in Holmberg and he isn't worth what you think he is. Ovchinnikov has no value to CHI.

How would they not have interest in Holmberg?
Only good center prospect is Nazar and they got rid of their future C/RW Kirby Dach.
If thats how they value those guys, I guess thats why every team is trading elsewhere

You obviously know nothing about CHI's prospect pool.

Name one center prospect better than Holmberg besides Nazar.

That's ready right now or in general? Right now, CHI has Guttman and Reichel who are both ready and could play center. Safonov could come over from the KHL at any time and play center in the NHL. For the long term big picture, Nazar, Dach, Greene, Luypen, and Thompson are all more promising than Holmberg and fit CHI's vision and timeline better. We could also call up Sikura, Seney, or Philp at any time to play any forward position we need them to. CHI also has plenty of prospects that were drafted as centers but are only playing wing for depth reasons with their college and junior clubs. But they still could turn out to be centers down the road. We have plenty of centers that project anywhere in the 2nd 3rd and 4th lines, and will likely be targeting a true top line center somewhere in the next few drafts. Holmberg is good, but I highly doubt he becomes a true top line center and I don't think he holds the value you think he does... at least not to CHI. Plus we still have plenty of centers at the NHL level that will likely still be in CHI next season. If anything CHI would be looking at centers/forwards that project further out, seeing as Homberg is "ready" right now.
