i'd still like to see us get another RHD. Macdermind is a liability anytime he touches the ice. He was a healthy scratch all post season last year for a reason.

Yeah I just didn't know who they should target there. Not a avs fan to begin with just basically wanted to show how a simple deadline for them could be effective

MTL would rather keep Monahan and resign him than trading him half retained for a 4th & AHLer

Okay go right ahead but he's a ufa and can leave for nothing and is mtl really gonna keep him over playing more youth like ylonon, beck, 2023 first round pick. The team is Young and needs to play the guys in their system and Monahan may want to play for a playoff caliber team. Him resigning would literally be to flip him and there's no guarantee that he stays healthy

If he walks fine, but we would still rather have him for the rest of the year than a 4th
MTL probably try to resign him to a 1-year prove it deal
MTL only have Suzuki (1C) Dvorak (3C) Evans (4C) signed for next year
Beck will be 19 yo, he ain’t centering a 2nd line
If we draft Bedard or Fantilli or Carlsson fine with one of them centering the 2nd line, but if we end up with Will Smith or Dalibor Dvorsky they won’t be NHL ready right away

Don't see Montreal or Anaheim doing those.

1. seeing what it would take to re-sign him for a year isn't nothing for Montreal.
2. Montreal's honestly playing too much youth right now with the injuries, and Monahan is the kind of vet you want on a rebuilding team.
3. A 4th and a waiver body isn't really worth the effort to move Monahan.

Dach is 2C and in the first year of a four year contract. I love the idea of re-signing Monahan, but if Bowers gets it together offensively, it’s not a bad trade proposal.
