Description
Big paycuts, the sell is to play with the Leafs top 4 those are the goalden eagles there's no way around it, make millions and play in Toronto, can't get it done without players like O'Reilly, bunting, but also a guy like Dumba but the big 4 are the core.

Murray needs to get traded for a pick or bought out, it is what it is.

For the top supporting guys can they do long term top heavy contracts with bonuses and less AAV??

You've underpaid O'Reilly and Bunting, and Dumba isn't all that good anymore.

Can your boss come to your job and tell you to take less for the good of the company? I am hiring by the way. If we are the best in our field, there are bonuses for all of the employees!

-PSA any negative future work can result in immediate forfeiture of the contract and/or cause work displacement causing you to relocate and uproot your life.

Bunting is getting 4 and O'Reilly around 5, which I still think they can afford both, if the cap goes up by a 3-4 million, as opposed to just 1 million. I doubt they take cuts this steep.

Hard to imagine they take pay cuts like that

I think what makes me the most upset about this post is that i read the title as Oh Oh Oh O'Reilyyyyyyyy........ only to find out that you were not referring to autoparts.

So every player takes less to fit Matt Dumba in? 🤭

And you don't even have Knies on your team? 🤣

Yeeeah, ROR won't be returning. He probably doesn't even listen to your second offer

I don't know what's worse, lowballing players just to be cap compliant or overpaying Dumba.

The short answer is none of these deals are allowed by the CBA. The fluctuation from year to year is beyond the maximum allowed by the CBA.

Also, you mention bonuses - none of these players are eligible for performance bonuses, so that’s out.

It’s not going to work.

If you forget about Dumba you could give ROR and bunting enough to stick around.

Pay cuts aren't out of the question, they never are. But at least make them feasible.

For O'Reilly, his market value should be between $5-6M on a mid-level term like 4-5 years. A discount could come in below $5M if the deal was front loaded with bonuses and/or on a longer term

Just forget about Dumba and re-sign Benn as your 7D.

Yup. Could sign a couple of depth guys. Mete is still rfa as well. That and a 22 man roster gives you over 10m to sign ROR and bunting.

ROR could sign for 5-5.5 mil. He's an Ontario boy. Bunting likely signs for 4-4.25 mil depending on contract length. He knows he's useless without Matthews carrying his eyebrows.

Leafs should have a very good team next season as long as Dubie doesn't do anything stupid. Murray should be bought out. Sammy gets 3.5-4 mil and Woll gets the backup goalie job.

Take advantage of the Knies 925k entry level contract.

Murray is due back soon. Not even sure who our A guy is. Both have played well. If samsonov takes the role I think you could move murray for nothing or possibly a profit.

I can't recall Murray's buyout number but it's quite cheap in the first year.

700k the first season and 2m when we really need the money. I would trade him. Someone will take him.

With his injury history? I doubt it unless they're getting a nice sweetener with him.

Leafs are just over cautious (and enjoying the cap mobility while they waited in Muzzin). If he goes down with another injury it might get dicey.

I hope Murray can be healthy come playoffs. That's when he's played his best hockey.

I think that's a bad example when you're getting paid multiples of millions of dollars, isn't Bergeron making $2.5M this season?

I want Murray to get healthy just so the Leafs can trade him and make use of his salary especially because samsonov looks ready to start and make more money but also for Murray's own sake as a person and a pro athlete and I hope samsonov can keep his play up to the level it's at. But if samsonov was more of a backup and Murray was as good as he is and healthy all season I'd trade samsonov and take Murray as the starter but those things haven't happened.

Meh well they can go play on a second rate organization, miss the playoffs and make a couple million more if they want I guess
