Yeah there's no deal if that's the case. I'd consider it one for one, but it's unrealistic and at that point I'd rather trade Nemec. Mercer may not end up as good as Meier but he's the real deal and it's too much to trade him along with other premium assets.

I'm not sure Grier expects to get Mercer. He's likely setting the price high and will go down to an equivalent value of Mercer in high end prospects.
He's also patient, allowing other teams enter into the conversation. Now with Perfetti out for the season, WPG may very likely be in on Timo as well.

I mean if I was Grier I would stand firm on mercer, we want assists that will cumulatively be better than or at least equal to meier in the future, everyone should be able to agree that mercer's ceiling isnt as high as timo as currently play but that he will be/ already is a great great player. So mercer + is a good starting point

Mercer would look great in teal but id rather have meier, and if you do some snooping on my page you'll see that my first option is always to keep meier because its highly unlikely we get a player that will be as good as him in our return. Also I just meant young players, apologize for the confusion, thats what sharks are looking for.
