CHI accepts. You might even be able to get the full 50% retention on McCabe with that offer.

There needs to be a public service announcement to all Leaf ACGMs. Stop adding Holl into the mix when trading for Schenn. He's a reasonably dependable, OK depth defenceman, however Vancouver isn't looking for pending UFAs in return. The Leafs will need Holl for a (hopefully) long playoff push, so keep him. The 3rd rounder in 2025 isn't overly helpful, and a 6th in 2024 is equally weak for Vancouver's currently empty prospect pool. Instead, look at your young prospects and offer one of them. Villeneuve comes to mind, maybe Niemela.
