I’d take that for Nino, but if NJD are willing to pay a 1st in this year i’d rather do that.

You couldn't even get McCabe without retention for that offer.

An A- prospect, a third, a B prospect and a d-man they can trade for another pick? And if they'd rather do the first over Nick Rob then they'd do that. I think this is a good deal.

Definitely would rather do a 1st over Robertson. Voit is a little guy that is tearing up juniors. I would never doubt a little guys ability to make it in the NHL, but I wouldn't necessarily bet on it heavily enough to value him this highly. Holl wouldn't be worth flipping unless the other team is taking him without retention.

Holl is only making 2 mill for one more season. With the Hawks trading away Kane's salary (with probably 50% retention) they would have enough money to retain 1 mill of Holl's contract. Plus Holl on his own without retention probably nets a third or fourth. He is top 10 among D in PK TOI, can hit, and is a RHD. Im sure you can get that mid round pick for him. Reason Toronto won't do that is because they need him unless they can upgrade him (with a guy like McCabe). They wouldn't just offload him for a pick that won't help them win now

Nick Rob is an A- prospect. He has gotten hurt, but proven time and again that he can hang in the AHL and did have 5 points in 15 games in the NHL playing around 10 mins a night while only being 21. He projects to be a top 6 forward with 20+ goal and 60+ point potential

He has a decent ceiling but hes definitely a reclamation project. Hasn't played a full season anywhere since being drafted. Combine that with him being undersized... don't know if I'm sold on him being THAT good lol. You'd have to wait until he can bounce back next season and actually produce decent numbers at an NHL level before you can sell him off for a good return. Him being good in the AHL does nothing if he can't crack an NHL roster

It is very likely that CHI won't have a retention slot available to use on Holl.
