Solid pick up for WPG,

Nino is solid 2 way, good for 20g per.

Wish him luck in WPG

This contract would have negative value in the offseason. Now it's worth a 2nd and people will say it's a good deal for Winnipeg. Wild how that works.

Just signed him this offseason and got a second for him. Seems like something you would do in a video game. Either way good move for both parties I suppose

More or less fair.

Although, one could make the case that it's a win for Winnipeg.

It's true. 4 Million for a 3rd liner is terrible.

Good thing Holland is still asleep. I mean its tough to find players connected to Edm according to him but Winnipeg. Yup. Thats the destination.

It's good value for a 20+ goal 2nd liner though.

Is a 40 PT winger worth 4m+? You can have your opinion, but for me, it's not.

Some of the preds fans on here really overrated his value. Seen so many of the armchair GMs trading him for a 1st.

A 2024 2nd seems fair.

I know some preds fans overvalued him for sure. But just a 2nd? For a division rival nonetheless?? Wow.

The Jets paid the "Winnipeg tax".

They might be the least desirable location in the entire league. They need to acquire players with term via trade because they cannot always rely on attracting free agents, or not having trades blocked by NTCs.

With the nature of the salary cap, Nashville was lucky to get a 2nd here. With that said, it's not a steep price to pay for a team who isn't going to be in a position to sign the same kind of player to a 1 year 4M per contract in the off season.

A direct comparison would be Connor Brown going for a 2nd last off season. Brown is a more complete player than Nino. Both have similar production over the last few years, with Brown having more difficult deployment and a larger role. Bjorkstrand went for a 2nd+3rd, and he is better than both of them.

It's not a bad trade in the context of the Jets and some of the difficulties they work against that other teams do not work against.

Top 40 in five on five goals/60. That's not top six goal scoring to you?

What are you talking about? He's a 40-point player with solid defensive upside that only costs $4 million for this season and next.
