Tampa must have copy-pasted their Meier offer for Jeannot.

Colton-Paul-Jeannot sounds like the ultimate playoff line that teams dont want to play against

So many draft picks, I thought it was an OHL trade.

This might have made sense last year when Jeannot was actually good but right now it's a massive overpay

That return is insane, what a great trade by Nashville.

But damn imagine a Perry-Jeannot-Maroon line against Toronto in round 1.

How did losing in the Stanley Cup Final to those overpaid for middle six wingers in the past feel?

That's the point. Tampa knows what they need in order to beat Toronto, and this is it. They'll do whatever it takes to do so. No matter how much of a terrible trade this is for them, if they win another cup, they could trade 10 1sts for him and nobody would care

I feel like I've lead the "cal Foote is overrated because of his last name brigade" but this seems like an insane overpayment by Tampa.

Cal Foote and a 4th seemed enough. Jeannot is having a bad year... Wow...

Your move Dubas, ORielly was nice, but Tbay has the upper hand in the playoff match up now.

Forget about Jeannot poor season, I think a fire will be lit inside him and he'll be a headache for opposing teams in the playoffs.

Dubas on the phone asking about Tom Wilson's availability right now.

Am I missing something here Tampa? Jeannot is having a terrible year and you just paid a premium for him. This package is better than the ROR trade and close to the Meier one...tf

It is not close to the Meier one. There is no prospect and zetterland is better than Foote. Foote is overrated for his name

But yes it's 5 picks, but the first is a few years away

Everyone is gonna chirp this trade for Tampa because of the huge costs, but let’s not forget Brisbois has been excellent at identifying guys like this in the passed and overpaying what it seems at the time, but the trades end up working out for TBL. Think Hagel, Coleman, goodrow.

I’ll call it a win win because I trust Brisbois at assessing players.

Hagel and Coleman were playing way better and had teams calling. Goodrow is a good example though. Cost much less though.

Must stink to be amateur scout on TBL staff…spending everyday of last year trying to find undervalued 2nd rou…I mean 3rd roun…maybe 4th…I guess 5th…no 6th rounders.

He's probably lining up with Colton and Paul.

Nashville wins this deal by a mile considering the HAUL they got for him. Although, my only complaint is letting Tampa add a condition to the 1st rounder; Preds should've said unconditional or no deal.

Tampa has struck gold so many times with deadline trades. I'm not betting against them, even though they gave up a boatload of assets and Jeannot's numbers are trash.
