I wonder how big the gap was between the asks for Vejmelka and Chychrun versus Korpisalo and Gavrikov. Interested to see the full trade, but also Gavrikov I feel is going UFA, and Korpisalo is a pending UFA, so the return maybe low overall.

Also, I wonder if Quick was the contract that caused the Chychrun deal to fall through about a week ago.

In either case, whether quick was sent to Columbus or Arizona, after 16 years and 2 cups with the Kings, plus the fact that he’s a feisty dude, wouldn’t be surprised if he retired instead of reporting. Kinda bull**** to ship off a 16 year core piece at the deadline after being really bad for 4 years, especially a goaltender, and especially to either Arizona or Columbus.

Oh well.

NHL is a cut throat business and Quick isn't good enough for a playoff team. Any other position and he wouldn't of been traded

Whoa. Crazy to see Quick getting traded. Will be interesting to see everything they gave up in the trade. Probably way cheaper than what AZ wanted for Chychrun. Maybe Cal Peterson's refusal to go to AZ will be to their benefit.

I wonder if Ottawa now grabs Chychrun. If they don’t make the playoffs, it isn’t a wasted rental. They have tons of nice prospects. Chabot Chychrun is ridiculous depth for a position. His shorter term though maybe allows the trade while the team is for sale. Makes much more sense for them than my boy Parayko.

Wild how teams are paying multiple 1st round picks for rentals, but nobody is biting on Chychrun. Chychrun is a legit #3 defender on a great contract.

If Leafs trade Boston's 1st + Knies or something similar, I'm scared of them.

Think it was 3 1st round picks which honestly isn't crazy considering the prices some teams are getting for players this week. You'd have to think Knies = 1st. Give them Kerfoot on top of that and see if they bite.
