A lot of the returns look bad, but the Meier, Horvat, and Tarasenko trades indicate a buyers market. Jeannot was weird, Tampa likes to give up their picks, it's an outlier

But PJ should be on the Leafs playoff roster? You've made the Leafs worse by the Kerfoot/PJ exchange.

I don't really think at this point Gudas is an improvement over Holl and he's .5 mil more. If he is it's miniscule. I like puljujarvi but he hasn't shown much scoring abiliity and kerfoot at least gives some. Maybe if edmonton retained but I can't see them doing that in a year they are going for it.

I was quite on the fence with it tbh, and maybe you're right. At least Pujlu is young and has potential. After a bad year this year he's still an RFA and will be cheap to re-sign, and these are the types of reclamation projects the Leafs love and are good at. On the playoff roster, might be a bad idea, but there's guys like Holmberg, ZAR, or McMann that could take his spot. Or Knies if I'm wrong

Gudas actually has pretty good underlying numbers, and Holl still fits on the roster if switches need to be made or someone gets hurt. The main thing is that he's harder to play against, which I don't like the "big guy hit" narrative but it doesn't hurt. Pujlu is a fairly lateral move in the short term I'll admit, but there's at least potential compared to Kerfoot. He's the kind of guy I could see the Leafs being able to rehab

Well he isn't cheap to resign. He has a QO of 3m or he a UFA. He just isn't good, Leafs need that cap space for next year not having a 4th liner making 3m. I know Leaf fans hate their own.
Even Gudas....yeah he's different, but is he any better than anyone he replaces in lineup?

I definitely would like to see them have a shot at Pul but his cost doesn't fit with their current team. Maybe EDM keeps him and moves him in the offseason for next to nothing.

For me...this is change just for the sake of change...which is not what the deadline is about.

Gudas is a beef plug and it's a coin flip, at best, if he'd help the lineup more than Holl.

And Domi, who would probably cost more to get from Chicago....is not the pest prototype player anymore..

What is it about Kerfoot that you don't trust that you believe Jesse can fulfill? At this point better off keeping Kerfoot unless there's a bigger trade available and you need the cap space...otherwise it's just giving up assets for a lateral move. If they're just going to play him 4th line minutes and there's an opportunity to bring in something tangibly better...absolutely..you can move on from him...otherwise he's a decent depth piece to keep

His QO being 3m is irrelevant. Is Pujlu going to get 3m a year as a UFA? Not a chance. The Leafs can sign him for less than 3m while he's still an RFA. I could see 1.5x2 or something similar. As for Gudas, he is an improvement on Holl, he brings a new look to the Leafs defence they don't currently have, and he provides insurance alongside Timmins that you have replacements if someone gets hurt
