Yeah this is some of the most underpaid contracts I've seen.
If that's Swayman's contract then expect literally every able team to offer sheet him.

he doesn't have to sign the offer sheet.. they can try all they want. if he wants to sign a bridge (like most other goalies recently) then he can stay.

Bergeron at 1.5M.
Okay.

he's playing for 2.5M this year... i can see him doing another low cap hit bonus deal like this year.

Yeah but I imagine he'd loved to sign a bridge deal as a back-up to Ullmark. Who wouldn't want to be a backup earning 2.2 mil when you can be the starter earning 4-5 mil.
Also, on the Bergeron deal....
Delusional but I mean good to be hopeful I guess.

because he gets 50% games played still so it's a 1A 1B situation. that's not going to change even if he's the "starter" and he has a good relationship with Ully and knows his contract is going to be done in 2 years.

This is extremely hopeful thoughts and it's more of a 1A, 2A situation (37 games vs 24 games). Plus, Ullmark will undoubtedly play like 75% of playoff games.
But the hope that all of these players would be willing to sacrifice millions is extremely hopeful and absurd.

Ullmark should be traded this off-season, as good as he's been and im grateful for it, he'll be coming off what's likely a vezina and hopefully a cup ring, his value will probably be close to, if not at an all time high. Can get back some draft capital and continue to build around the new core.

Why are you giving away a 5th round pick for someone that can be bought out for $333,333.

Swayman isn't getting a $5M offer, I think what's being proposed here is a reasonable bridge deal for him. If some team is going to offer him at $5M lm sure they'll be fine taking the 1st and 3rd as compensation.

Overages aren't calculated yet. It all depends on how much left over cap they have at the end of the year. There's a possibility there won't even be an over if they dump Reilly and trade someone like Gryz before the deadline. Which with Edmonton opening up all that space sending Pool party out might be a possibility.

I'm not, ARZ was sending thie 5th round pick. they could likely use Reilly next season if they move Chyrun and Ghost moves on. also the 3M will help them with getting to the cap floor.

best case they can absorb 1 mil this season , and i doubt its that much , even if they trade riley that doesn't add 3 mil to the cap space for overages , its calculated on the daily cap remaining after the trade , if i remember correctly trading him now puts about 450k to the overages
