Engvall is not a negative asset, he's an important PK and third line player. The Leafs aren't just giving him away for free lmao

They're currently over the cap so one of Kerfoot/Holl/Engvall has to go.

This is actually not bad but the problem is that Blackwood has a $3.36 million qualifying offer which Ottawa can't afford.

all the trades are thumbs up except first one...if ottawa retains 5o percent......rangers better add a sweetener with that pick

If he doesn't work out, they just don't qualify him and he becomes a FA (which in this case with OTTs cap situation would).

It likely won't though and either way I wouldn't want to use the new cap space on Blackwood.

TOR has to move one of Kerfoot or Engval so I dont think TOR gets anything for them. Kerfoot has M-NTC so I think they move Engvall instead because there are more options of places to send him.

They're not going for free, and of them Engvall is the last to go

Kerfoot only has a 10 team list. Still 22 teams to move him to. Kerfoot is the worse player with the bigger contract, he's the one that'll be moved, or Holl. Also, they can get a return for either. If Jeannot is getting 5 draft picks from Tampa, Engvall would get at least two pieces

I don't believe you can trade for Mackenzie Blackwood since he's on the IR. Which is a blessing in disguise for us. Blackwood has been placed on IR 6 times in his career and he's only 26. If I'm Pierre, imma be hesitant any time I make a trade for a goalie for the rest of my GM days, especially with a history of injuries. If Sogy hasn't shown you he is ready to be a mainstay NHL goalie then IDK what to tell you. I've heard more praise for Sogy in his first 6 NHL games than I've ever heard for Blackwoods' whole NHL career.
