Just because hes their best, doesnt mean he IS the best. Depends if they're done dealing and want ROR on 2nd line. With McCabe, timmins, liljegren, nienmala probably doesnt arrive for 2-3 more yrs

PHI isnt dealing laughton for peanuts and they need RD prospects. The 3rd in 2023 is about 80th at best and the other 3rd is THREE drafts away. Considering Laughton is still young, having a 2nd career yr in a row on a team that cant score and signed long term, can play all 3 positions/PK/etc... and brings physicality and leadership, hes a better jarnkrot or lafferty.

We already made our seeler type move for stillman. I'd be interested in JVR if the price is right

Probably not, a 3rd sounds about right, considering the hype on him at the moment. Make it BUF 3rd only and take out the EDM 4th

Of those available (?), the only big ticket left is Kane, who CHI will want more. With so many teams around the playoff fringe, theres more than a few teams who will look at JVR as their TDL insurance move, now that so many guys are off the board. After Kane and JVR, theres alot of more damaged goods/broken toys like Dandanov, Hoffman, Drouin for example. JVR is fairly one dimensional, but hes a guaranteed producer in limited minutes, and hes having a pretty good year.

PHI will get 2 3rds or a 2nd and 3rd, and most buyers will want retention. And PHI can easily take a cap dump in trade to get their price.

But Kane is still a 5.25mil hit with 50% retention and last rumours I heard, CHI still want a 1st, a 3rd, a high/highish midlevel prospect and it'll cost probably another 4th from the buyer for 3rd party retention. Id have to think that other than TB, BOS and NJ that most others are still looking to buy

I think I'd do a 3rd and a lesser prospect or maybe a 2024 2nd. No retention needed

Oh yeah, I never thought PHI would get a 2nd and 3rd in 2023, (CGY has no 2nd in 2023 for example, CAR has 2 2nds in 2024), although BUF unlike others, has 3 2nds in 2023 which might give them an advantage.

And while BUF wouldn;t need retention, PHI can take the best offer WITH it, or take a cap dump back.

PHI is playing like 8 forwards under 25 yrs old right now, with top prospects like brink, foerster, gautheir in AHL, = so the prospect would have to be a good one or an area of need, RD?
