Likely looking at Klingberg more than Comtois

Maybe if they are deciding to move Holl. If it's Kerfoot/Engvall that they may move it's probably Grant who they are scouting or someone who can pass through waivers. Could maybe be Stolarz too.

They don't need a puck mover, they have enough of those. I don't mind this trade but Comtois may not make the team full time.

Flip Kerfoot for a pick is a value negative for the Ducks, not an add. We assume the risk that no one wants to buy him or we have to use a retention spot. This kind of deal would wreck our deadline selling by using 2/3 retention spots and we have 3 of our own UFAs we could use those spots on.

We'd also like to give Comtois a shot under the new regime before we give up on him. While he's on our current coaches **** list, Eakins won't be head coach next season.

I feel like Verbeek gave us a pretty good idea of how he's going to build this team though at last years draft, where the smallest player picked was 6'1''. I can't imagine he flips the script at this point.

With Vancouver interested in Kerf I think that is the easiest route for the Leafs to go, the team is fine rn just need to make up the cap to get Murr in some games again

Agreed. Not sure why Vancouver is in on Kerfoot, or if/why they'd pay for him, but who knows. Seravelli is a weirdo.

It's mainly due to their Penalty Killing numbers which are worst in the nhl, Kerf no matter how many people hate him is very good defensively on 5v5 & the PK he is also from Vancouver I think

I don't think people hate him, I think they just recognize that he's a pending UFA, and that the Nucks have no reason to even consider paying for him at this point, given that they're currently sitting 27 points out of a playoff spot. If it's something bigger, great, but why not just hold off and try to sign him (Or someone similar) on July 1st?

Comtois is more valuable, and more appealing, to us than Robertson.

I can see Dubas working out some deal for Kerfoot with a team whereby he sends him to us cheaply (for cap relief) and then we pass him on to the other team for a third after retaining 50% on him (instead of Toronto having to retain on him), but I can't see that making any sense for a non-contender like Vancouver; the most likely destination for my scenario is Winnipeg. Just a thought.
