Description

Kane traded to NYR. They go to playoffs. Kane gets off-season hip surgery which will take 6 months to heal from. He signs a 3yr $8M deal with Hawks who allow him all the time in the world to heal while they toil at the bottom of the league again. This helps Hawks by keeping them at the cap floor and Kane can come back and continue his destruction of Hawks records and his legacy.

chicago won't be any good again until after he retires....

They should… they’re getting a PPG+ RW1, PP1 specialist who drives offense and makes players better. Anything less is criminal. And if this isn’t close to the deal, I don’t see why you trade him and you either get him hip surgery now so he’s ready for next season or you trade him in off season/at draft for his signing rights.

I know I’m going to be bigly disappointed by this trade and I tend to overvalue my players on here.

Tough to get a good return when you're negotiating against yourself

On the plus side, you'll be able to continue cheering for Kane to do well, considering the 2nd could become a 1st if the make the ECF. A tough road through NJ and Carolina, but if Shesty stands on his head, they have a shot.

Honestly, when I look at the Ducks, I feel the same way when I think about some of the players that *might* be moved. I'm all in on trying to get a bunch of picks and/or prospects, but at the same time, making a trade just to make a trade serves very little benefit.

Gibby for instance-If they go out, retain, and get a meager return, Ducks fans should absolutely riot.
