I'm not high on them. Still not high on the trade.
Obviously
Mukhamadullin is a very underrated prospect having a good year in a tough league for defenseman. The more I read about him the more excited I get. Big guy, huge shot, great skater...our defence pipeline was not pretty before this last draft, now it's finally looking respectable.
He's 26 points in 28 games as a defenseman and captain at Harvard. His ceiling still projects as a capable middle 4 defenseman, really good skater, NHL size. Pretty strong chance he's in the NHL soon. That 3rd round pick won't be in the NHL for 3-5 more years typically and a small chance of making the NHL entirely. This is a good trade for Grier
He's 18th in defensive scoring (with 15 younger than him) so those aren't great stats. Especially considering he's playing with Farrell who's a stud (so I have watched Thrun play) If you think he has top 4 potential than it's a good pickup for San Jose, but I personally don't see it.
I hate that we traded him in division, he has the chance to haunt us for years to come.
That said, I hope he succeeds there.

He's a stay at home defenseman who's much better in his own zone than the other, the fact that he's that high in scoring is rather remarkable. He figured out his offensive game sometime during covid. I'm really sad to see him depart, I thought he could have been a fantastic pairing for Drysdale.
Anaheim wins. They got a third for a player they selected with a fourth, one that wasn't going to sign with them. Hell, the Sharks might not even be able to sign him.

I’d call this fair value if he signs with SJ. The fact that it’s not a guarantee (and that I can’t picture why he’d chose SJ but not ANA), I’ll call it a ducks W. Especially since they had no leverage here
thrun's been averaging over 19 minutes for the sharks this season
i know +/- isn't great but he's one of the few guys on the team whose rating isn't down in oblivion.
is the boy good? analysts should weigh in.
The only reason he's averaging any NHL minutes at all is because San Jose's defensive talent is non-existent. He wasn't worth a 3rd then, and he certainly isn't now. Glad to see my words aged well.
