I am not speaking about culture at all. In fact I don't think I've written the word culture in a few weeks.

I am not "creating my own narrative". I am speaking the truth as I see it.

You are the one that brought up development. I told you that development happens outside the games played as well and you are telling me i'm wrong. That would mean culture in most minds. You dont have to say the word, itself, to elude to a specific thing. I have no idea what you are trying to say but you are going in circles.

Drafting is very important BUT to talk about this whimsical meaning of culture isnt relevant whatsoever.

(This is a serious request) Please quote me back to myself where I told you development does not happen away from the games? I think you are confusing me with someone else.

I spoke about player development being more important than drafting. Can't tell if you're trolling me sir or if you genuinely are misinterpreting what I'm writing.

Ceci is maybe 10%-20% (at most) worse than Savard

Barrie is infinitely better than Ceci yet was dumped for cap. Because Ekholm is that 'small' improvement over Barrie that many were saying last night.
You're only deflecting.
An improvement is an improvement and you pay for it.
It doesnt matter how much of a percentage you think Ceci is worse than Savard.

You're missing the point: The point is, if Ceci is only minimally weaker than Savard and has the lower cap hit, why is Ceci being dumped with a 1st and yet Savard isn't being dumped with a pick as well (and before you go on and on about how Pitlick is good blah blah blah... On a healthy (last in the Atlantic) Montreal team, Pitlick is the 4LW. That's not valuable at all.

To even counter your argument about Barrie: Edmonton had too much offensive minded defensemen and needed defensemen that can play defence. They weren't giving up Bouchard, they weren't giving up Nurse (due to how much they would need to add on), Ceci at least tries to play defence so he's not going etc. and then you have Barrie. Perfect amount of salary being awarded for the deal to work and is a defensive liability (not bc of Barrie being a pure cap dump). People complained bc EDM could've gotten Chychrun instead of Ekholm

In conclusion, stop overvaluing your players and Savard isn't that much better than Ceci and def. not a 1st round pick better

Yes he is! Brutal this season. Oilers dont have time for him to find his game. Just watch the highlights of Savard breaking up plays last night. Oilers are ALL IN, paying high prices dont mean much

To add from the post above... the Oilers aren't all in... teams like NYR, Tampa and TOR are all in this year
