Solid contract for a 1C especially considering it's all UFA years

I guess people were Larkin up the wrong tree when making trade proposals for him

Good contract. Kinda surprised of the lack of NMC/NTC.

Very good contract; will remain a Red Wing for the rest of his career.
I think the AAV is a bit high because of the RFAs coming up, but It'll work itself out

I imagine anyone who votes "no" is just looking to stir the pot, this is great value for their 1C.

Thought he would get 9 million or more so definitely a good signing! It was crucial for the Wings to keep him.

Bro looked like a beat dog in this back to back vs Ottawa. Not a captain, not a guy you build around.

Stützle's deal is a robbery.

it's very funny to me that horvat, zibanejad and hertl are the top 3 comparables on both this contract and his previous one.

GREAT signing. I'm glad to see it. It's where he and everyone else wanted him to be. (The AAV may be a touch low due to as-yet-undisclosed NTC provisions.)

He probably could’ve gotten more on the open market tbh, he must be keen with the Yzerplan

Sighing with content is the initial reaction.

On one hand I think he has great potential and could get to 90 points a few times bc he never truly played with great players so I'll give him benefit of the doubt.
But on the other hand, he becomes a ghost for stretches, the last 3 games for instance & getting punked by the sens was a reflection of leadership to a degree.

Still going fair deal though.

Horvat $8.50m
Hintz $8.45m
Barzal $9.15m
Hertl $8.14m

$8.7m is inline with expectations
Solid deal for team and player.

This a great contract IMO... but if you, prefer guys like Zibby/Stuzle/the other 8m players, you won't like his contract

Detroit was without 2 of their top 6 forwards for most of the season and they are still in the hunt for a wild card spot. I think that says a lot more about leadership than the last 2 games does.

Vasilevskiy is the reason they lost that TB game. He made 45 saves and at least 15 were impressive.
