They got more for Hronek then Bertuzzi?

As they should. Bertuzzi is a rental. Hronek has another year after this one and then is a RFA.

Then fair. I just found it convenient that Hall magically ends up on LTIR a couple of hours after the Bert trade

I don't think it's a coincidence but it isn't necessarily suspicious either. There's no benefit to putting a player on LTIR if you're under the cap, because he still counts against the cap (which is why teams who are in danger of dropping below the floor like to collect them), and I think the team has more flexibility with regular IR. Also, I think you can put a guy on LTIR retroactively back to when he actually got hurt, so waiting doesn't hurt you with respect to the minimum number of days before you can reactivate him.

As bad of a summer as Yzerman had, that's how good his TDL has been, if not better.

Detroit wins. You don't give up a 1st round pick for a rental when the player has already been injured five times this year alone.

Or a poorly timed but LONG OVERDUE five-minute major to Marchand. (See: VGK v. SJS, G7 2019)

Holy **** Boston is MEAN, how do they not go all the way???

1. They can only put five of their twenty-one active rostered skaters on the ice at once. Or it is a penalty.

2. As well as their net minders have played, they have eight postseason games combined and just three wins.

3. The five next-best NHL teams are in the East.

Yep. If the refs do their job and call ever penalty, Boston won't get out of the first round.

So that's never going to happen.

It will be a late 1st. Corey Pronman actually went back a few years and found 1 pick that actually turned into something from a particular TDL. Picks especially late picks are almost worthless. They are lottery tickets.

Remember the 2011 cup final? It's a long time ago now, but as I recall, Vancouver's special teams were much better than Boston's in that series, but in game 7, both teams suddenly cleaned up their acts and magically stopped taking penalties.

Marchand punched the Sedins so many times in that series. He once punched one of them and the Sedins got the penalty. If we found out the refs were actually paid off, I would not be surprised.

Go to the latest threads and you can see all the Red Wings fans comments about the cost being a 1st + Fraser Minten to the Leafs if the Leafs wanted Bertuzzi

Have u seen AGM posts here? Most people have no clue. At least 49% are dumber than average.

Someone who gets it. Picks 20-31:

From 2019: 12 players 370 GP = 31GP on average total
2018: 947/12 = 79GP career
2017: 1756/12 = 146 gp
2016: 1541/11 = 140gp
2015: 2835/ 11 = 257gp

In 2030, a 20-31 1st round pick might have played 3 NHL seasons.

These late 1sts are almost cope for a lot of franchises that are badly run. Something to hold onto and hope against hope. Its almost always better getting a prospect that is developing nicely or a young roster player with upside.

Although he is mean and physical, Bertuzzi's scoring and point production has been rather anaemic compared to the last 3 seasons.

Securing a return roughly equivalent to that of Patrick Kane and Vladimir Tarasenko, if not better, is a nice piece of business by the Wings.

Whatever somebody might have posted in a ACGM about Bertuzzi's trade value is irrelevant.

Detroit wins the trade.

Guess you (and 99% of fans) forgot about Florida. The Cup was for the taking by the Leafs and some other teams. Boston/Tampa eliminated, Avs eliminated. Canes certainly are worth of being the East rep if they beat Florida/
