Today's Drouin Trade Speculation

Description
How today's trade speculation could play out.

Don't shoot the messenger for the Chucky and Beaulieu trades. They're what's likely going to happen, not what I personally would like to see.

For the expansion draft, all valuable players have been locked down with the assumption that Radulov and Markov sign AFTER the draft. In the case that we sign Radulov before and must protect him, Byron will be exposed, and a 2017 2nd round pick will be given to VGK to take JDLR instead.

As for the Beaulieu trade, a 2017 or 2018 2nd rounder can be added as incentive, though values are almost equal, as are team needs.

I'm leaning more towards Ho-Sang as well, but it seems like Isle's management really values him. Seems like an untouchable? Not sure.

Not a chance under the sun the Islanders ever make those trades. To get Ho Sang you best be sending back a 1st, a top notch prospect, and an NHL Ready player. Not that bs. Strome wouldn't be traded for that either, biased and blind Habs fans.

And you signed Drouin for only $3.5? Are you high?

I honestly didn't spend time on the details of the signings. Swap that for a $5M short-term gap if you like, it still works for me.

Didn't expect Ho-Sang to be traded for just Beaulieu, that's why I just added him in the additional details. Obviously, much more has to be given for Ho-Sang, since he's pretty much untouchable. Strome seems to be shaky with your management though, that's why I figured you might consider him for an NHL-ready top-4 puck-moving defenseman, something your team is really lacking. Throw in a couple 2nd rounders, if you like.

Actually on second thought, no. I wouldn't sign him for $5M for 3 years. Maybe MAXIMUM 2 years at that price. But he's literally only had one good year and spent more than half of last season injured, as well as the previous one being a full-on plug. He deserves a 3.5 to 4 million bridge deal. I'm fairly confident on that. If he's signed at 5m, it's long-term, by a team who's willing to take a roll at the dice that he may repeat his one-year success. That's the only way it's worth it.
