What the Red Wings should do

Created by: Wingsfan20
Team: 2017-18 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 14, 2017
Published: Jun. 14, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I used some high draft picks as trade chips because of the weakness of this years draft and the fact that the players traded for will likely be better than those draft picks would ever be. I also read that the salary cap could go up to around $75 million.

Aside from the fact i don't think Mackinnon will move and that we will probably use the 9th overall on a defender, i really like this.

I like to think that you're giving Tampa enough for Drouin but I don't think you are. Plus both teams are in the same division so the price might be a little larger than other teams. Regardless, what an awesome team! All trades seem like real possibilities. Three lines of excellent scoring and a grind line. Absolutely love it. This would be an amazing way to start at LCA. I've honestly thought that a complete rebuild was necessary but a clean out like this could work just as well if not better. Love it. Just love it. I rarely see optimistic and realistic Wings GM teams. 5 stars for making my day.

You both must have fallen off your rockers if you think Colorado or Tampa even spend more than a blink of an eye on those trades

+1, absolutely agree. Even the ANA trade is unreasonable. Rated 5 for outcome, but 1 for approach. Overall, can't rate this higher than 1 because it's completely unrealistic.

Since Drouin just got traded to the Canadiens (also a divisional team) for Segachev and a conditional pick, I think Sproul, a 2nd and a 5th would have been pretty enticing to Tampa. I think the trade with Anaheim could have included more, but it does address a significant need for both teams: the Ducks need a scorer and the Wings obviously need a defenseman. Anaheim is going to have issues on D with the expansion draft so I think a trade like this could be enough for them to trade Vatanen instead of possibly losing him or some other good defenseman for nothing.
