Nah, Kings can find someone who has put up better stats for a cheaper cap hit without giving up assets.

Take out both draft picks and LA might consider that trade.

Nemeth for Myers and a 6th after the bonus is paid. Cheaper cap hit (2.5M) for Van than Myers at 50%, and saves them a retention slot. Both expiring contracts. Could bury him to shave another million off the cap hit or just use him as a 6-7 d, which he hasn't been completely terrible at.
Vancouver moves a bunch of cap without paying through the nose or wasting a retention slot. Arizona saves a bunch of real dollars.
Though if Vancouver is rebuilding the roster next year, do they really need the cap space?

I wish the pens did this instead of Granlund

You would think, but the Kuzmenko extension and Horonek trade make it pretty clear that management thinks this team can turn it around next year.

Ugh, don't bring up that trade, it's looking gnarly for us.
Hronek could prove me wrong and I hope he does, but that was not worth a potential 16 OA pick AND a high second in a STACKED draft. Allvin would've done better had he just hung on to those picks and improved our tiny prospect pool.

It's been obvious for awhile to me that ownership there is giving schizophrenic directions to the GM(s).
