First, we just got Meier. Let us at least play him first.

Second, the offer is missing ____(a lot)

Third, Vrana probably don't have much positive value right now...to a lot of teams, including ours, he would be a negative asset.

Four, Fiala doesn't work as a comp. It would have for San Jose or any team looking to sell him. But NJD is looking to extend him, not trade him.

Why would the "top out" there? Considering NJD wanted Meier for long term (and Meier wanted NJ)...it would be have to be offer-they-cannot-refuse type of bid.

8 x $9.5 is pretty steep for Meier IMO. Larkin, Horvat and Barzal all just signed for less. They all play a more important position (center) and have similar scoring numbers over the past x years.

Meier: 258, 100-108-208 0.806 P/GP

Just a random guess here, but I'd estimate Vrana could return a 7th and an AHLer if they retained 50%. Just off the top of my head.
