Sad Vrana got into his issues, was a very good player with unfortunate habits.

Wish the """"reporters"""" who have said they know whats up with Vrana would actually tell us.
Anyway lets hope whatever it is works out for all involved. I like the bet for the cost for STL

Good trade for Blues IMO. Paid almost nothing for him and got 50% retention too. Let's hope he can bounce back.

Seeing as he's back on IR and has been a healthy scratch at times, I'd say Washington isn't exactly over the moon with him either.

STL wins, the return is basically a bag of pucks

Ima say DAL won the trade in the end. DET moved the first rounder from that year for them and DAL got Wyatt Johnston out of it.

Detroit's hopes rest on Cossa's shoulders, although he has struggled this year.

This retention is brutal. Yzeman is paying $3M+ (next season included) to get rid of him....

Sad. Take our best pure sniper and put him in the stands. Good way to win hockey games.

The good old lose-lose type of trade.

That says how bad he wanted him gone. Bert and Vrana two top 6 wingers who should have been 60+ goals for years traded away for a 1st, junk and half retained.

But he was doing so well in the AHL, his value was skyrocketing.

I'm not sure anyone is particularly happy with it tbh. Very strange trade

There were people who thought he'd return something? Like Yzerman destroyed his value and eliminated his leverage when he said he was done as a wing

Well fwiw, I as a Dallas fan am relatively happy with it grin

It does suck that circumstances didn't really work for any actual participant in the trade in the end.

Oh wow this is atrocious for Detroit. Absolutely brutal.
Even if Vrana doesn't bounce back, you're willfully eating half his salary in exchange for essentially nothing. I know the guy supposedly has issues, but he's still a 30 goal talent. Every team in the league should have been on this.

There’s no way they retained for just a 7th rounder

Somethings wrong with player... if Detroit was wanting to make playoffs and player can score allegedly. Otherwise, intentionally tanking?

I tried that once with Andreas Johnsson. Didn’t work out so well.
