But I didn’t do any of that? Anyway I remember as a kid watching the wings win one playoff series in my entire youth before the late 80s when things finally got good. We’re going on year 7 in a row without the playoffs. This rebuild forever mentality needs to end.

Considering when Yzerman took over well had very few good players, a bunch of bad contracts and a bad prospect pipeline, I think we are doing okay and it's going to take awhile to get to bring a legitimate Stanley Cup contender year after year. Also especially considering alot of teams that made drastic jumps won the lottery or got to pick top 3, we are likely a few years or still unless we get lucky.
On your trades I would love to have Lindholm and Andersson but that isn't close to enough to get them and the cost too acquire them would be waaaaay more than we could afford. Better to move on from them even though they would be amazing adds. The Boeser trade is a massive overpayment, I'm pretty sure a second would likely be enough.

Detroit passes on both trades.

Since when is Boeser worth Rasmussen, Wallinder+2nd round pick at full value? Way too much for Boeser.

I was not criticising Yzerman. He has done a fine job. Wings fans who don’t remember life before Stevie Y and Nik don’t understand how long we had to wait to be anything beyond average. I’m hoping we don’t have to go through that again.

The first trade an easily a yes for us. You can say I overpaid for Boeser but the first trade? That’s easily a win for us.

That Vancouver trade is atrocious. First trade I could see merits for and against.
