business decisions to be made

Description
Decision to keep the new guys. Orlov seems like a good fit in the top 4 and can replace forbort on the PK and offers the same puck moving as gryz with a bit more physicalty. Gryz will also be due a raise that I'm not sure the B's want to give him.
Give Hathway 2-3 year contract for security and bit less money.
Bertuzzi could be a good fit and is a couple years younger than Hall, so Hall get's traded out for business related reasons (not because we don't like the player).

i think schenn probably resigns in Vancouver if they'll take him but if not can be a useful Dman for the Bs (again given 2 season for slightly lower AAV)

And Boston needs the cap space, so we're not inclined to do any favors. Best well do is a Kulikov deal.

Meh, just from a Ducks perspective, I'd give you future considerations for Reilly, but I'm certainly not moving a pick for him. No issue with getting him, but they could have grabbed him off of waivers either time.

Doubtful that the cape is that high, but i hope it is.

Bruins aren’t getting a return for reilly.

I’m guessing orlov wants more like 7x7

Just an FYI, Bertuzzi’s club apparently wants over $7 mil AAV with term. We’ll see how much his injury history effects this as well as his performance in Bostons cup run but he’ll probably test FA no matter what

I don't think just moving out 15 million worth of salary is just gonna be so easy. Reilly has passed through waivers unclaimed, hall has been a pain in the ass before he got here, forbert and gryz should be movable but not gonna get huge returns.

The cap won't be that high and you have to pay the bonus overage penalty from this current year

You're not getting no 4th round pick for Mike Reilly, he just cleared waivers he has no value. You'd need to pay to take him off your hands no team is giving up assets for him.

And if Tyler Bertuzzi wanted 5 x $5 mil he'd still be a Wing. He wants closer to 7 x $7M which Boston doesn't have. Plus he plans on testing free agency anyways.

If Orlov desired 5 x 5 he would have signed with the Caps easy. You might get him at 6 x 6 maybe. Hathaway is wanting more money on the open market and could get 3 or 4 years at 2 million plus.

We didn’t take Reilly for free off of waivers so not sure why we’d give up a pick for him

like hall for washington, all the rumors were that Orlov was looking for 7 years and a raise so I don't think 5x5 will get it done

Caps accept, Orlov and Hathaway are both looking for more than what you gave them. The Caps were interested in re-signing both of them, if this was the numbers they were looking for they would still be Caps

Forbort is a negative asset at this point
