I think it’s fair 1 to 1 but It’d be a bad deal for Arizona since they’re essentially get 7 less years of a generational talent.

I can't imagine Matthews would want to play for the Coyotes......unless he so greedy with taking a little more money. But Coyotes shouldn't make that trade anyway.

Really bad trade for Zona especially since they need to negotiate a new contract soon

Keep Bedard, sign Matthews in free agency. No reason to trade a generational talent for Matthews when you can just convince him to sign with his hometown in UFA

Yeah, so? Yes he was born in LA. I doubt if Matthews will go to the worse hockey market in the NHL, or such "small" market in the US or the worse travel schedule in the NHL.

The worst travel schedule is probably Edmonton.

The reason I said Arizona, is their closest division rival is Dallas. East to Nashville, and north Winnipeg. Oilers have three division rivals not far....Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle. Now I admit I would rather winter in Arizona than Edmonton. Not only the weather, but the northern latitude...a lot less sunlight during the hockey season.

The rink is super close to the airport, and they don’t have to cross the border as much as the western canadian teams. It’s a no brainer travel wise.
