Canucks easily decline. Not only do the Canucks have a better version of Rielly in Hughes, they also don't have the cap space for Rielly, the roster space for him, and they also are not in the market to be giving up picks, especially a pick that is most likely going to be top 10. This deal would have them investing over $22 million into a left side of Hughes-Rielly-OEL. That's 3 offensively minded defensemen for a team desperately in need of defensively minded ones. Not only that, but you are paying one of them $7 mil plus to play 3rd pair minutes, which is just plain stupid.

I'm betting you didn't check any other team's cap situation before you published this.

Canucks have Hughes and Hronek - both better versions of Reilly on better contracts.
