Trading Dubois

Description
Plan B

Sorry, not sorry Habs fans. out of spite I didnt trade him to Montreal.

To buy out Wheeler it would be a 2 year cap hit of $2.75m or a total of $5.5m. Jets save $3.25m in real dollars.

Yes I realize Necas does not likely want to sign in Winnipeg. Thats not the point.

I’d rather have Necas, and it’s really not close.

If we can re-sign Vladi Gavrikov, we won't need Dillon; and if we can't re-sign Gavrikov, we'll probably look for someone under 30 (which isn't Dillon) with some term (which isn't Dillon).

Do you really think that Carolina would trade Necas for Dubois, let alone be the ones adding? You think they'd make him the highest paid player in franchise history?

Most of the other trades aren't worth mentioning or not really feasible/logical for the not-Jets teams (Florida's going to use most of their cap-space to add a RWer when they have Tkachuk, Reinhart and play Duclair there? Flames are going to move Mangiapane for a D they don't need?).

PLD is supposedly only wanting to play for Montreal. In what world would the Canes make an offer for him only to walk after a year, let alone make an offer like this one? If the Canes were going to make an offer, the most you are likely to get, for someone very likely to be a rental, might be Suzuki, Coghlan, and a 2nd. Anything more wouldn’t make sense unless he changes his tune and would consider signing long term in Carolina. Assuming that were the case, Necas isn’t going anywhere, and PLD wouldn’t be getting anywhere close to 8mil, let alone the ridiculous number you put up.

No one is giving more than a late 1st and a good prospect for 1 year of Dubois. Look at what they got for Trouba. Situation is the exact same.

Necas and PLD are absolutely not comparable players…they are very different players and different roles. Looks like you might just be comparing points?

For the Canes roster and trajectory, Necas is a much better fit than PLD.

No likely not homer but these 2 players are comparable in production, age, etc. Dubois is beast. Tkachuk plays the left side. That deal is a vehicle with connection to move out Wheelers salary. To where is irrelevant for the sake of the post. I did not return any asset that had an impact here. Jets fans will appreciate it!

Ya and PLD is a better fit for the Jets but... They are absolutely comparable in value. In fact... PLD is better.

I mean, this really was the joke of the whole post. I purposely made a post called trading Dubois and included a trade with the Habs that was not for Dubois! It's hilarious! Love the passion!

Look what they got for Copp, look what San Jose got for Meier, Nashville for Jeannot... This is a legit 24 yr old 2 way, point a game franchise center with speed, power and an elite shot.

Necas and Dubois play completely different games and Necas is, by nearly every measure, a better fit for Carolina. And Florida does not care about why the deal may work for Winnipeg, they care about why it may work for Florida. And it clearly doesn't. There may be a market for Wheeler elsewhere.

Yes, its pretty apparent from the proposals that Jets fans would be the only ones who would appreciate it.

If he agree to extend with any teams, then he's worth as much as Meier. If he will only extend with MTL as rumored, then he's worth as much as Trouba.

Wait, hang on, a player with a career high of 61 points and a career high of 28 goals is in fact a point a game franchise center with an elite shot? You've got some very generous definitions there.

Like, you know that Timo Meier is a better player, right? Position evens things up, but let be realistic here, this is like if San Jose would only trade Meier for Jesper Bratt.
