Both teams decline. Matthews is and always will be better than Stuzle, and Ottawa is in a cap crunch, and can barely afford who they have

All this talk about him wanting to go back is based on what exactly?

Oh yes right the old "Well, he was born there" notion. It's so obvious in it's simplicity really...and of course 100% accurate. If Dubas were to.get the idea he was going to leave, he would be traded for multiple assets.

Provided of course that the new guys were born in Toronto so they wouldn't just take off during an intermission or something. 🙂

Matthews = older, higher cap, more injury prone, overall more proven and has a hart
Stutzle = younger, cheaper, better this season, potential to be a consistent 90-100 point player

Nope 61 goals would have been good potential, but a paltry 60?? Pfft, no way.

I don't think Dubas can fleece a GM that hard, we may have to add 2 1st and retain 50% for future considerations to get a measly 60 goal scorer off our hand 🤣🤣🤣🤣
