This is laughable. You may get a 1st and some prospects, but a 1st and Jarvis? Even Meier (who is WAY better than Cat) didn't get a roster player of that caliber. You're likely looking at a 1st, 2nd and 3rd, exactly what Ottawa paid for him. Yes, Ottawa's pick were higher in the draft, but he was also under contract when he was moved before.

Would any team want to pay DeBrincat "what he wants". 8.25 X 8. Canes might find better value in a UFA and keep Jarvis and the first.

really, how do you define better is it scored more goals? Cat had 160 goals in his first 5 years vs 99 for Timo or by points? well Cat has 307 vs Timo at 258 in their first 5 seasons. (368 games vs 360 games) (did not count the 2016-2917 years for Timo, 34 games an 6 points that year). Also did not count this year as it is not over yet.

depends on how much he wants, the Trade of Cat is for Cap purposed for OTT if they want to keep Sanderson and Chych in 2 years (both expected in the 7-8M range)

You just said it yourself. You are wanting a first and Jarvis for a player in a cap dumping move. A first and prospects, or the package that Ottawa gave up for Cat, sure, but anything more, especially considering that it is a cap move, you won’t be getting. At the very least, it won’t be from the Canes.

Cat played with Kane. Meier played with Barabanov... Meier is better defensively. Meier also is a power forward meaning his physicality is not 0.

Jarvis probably isn't coming along with a 1st.

I don't love the Konecny trade, as much as it would be cool to get him back to Ottawa. I feel like you just play Grieg there, take only futures for DeBrincat, and use the money for
1. A Motte replacement.
2. A 6-7 D who's big, can play the right side, and can fight when needed, +
3. Space for another goalie depending on Forsberg recovery.
