Sabres would rather keep their assets and not potentially ruin the future for the slightly better chance at making a run now

Edit: other than that, the value is probably decent. Maybe a little in favor of the jets just based on longevity

Lol you're getting a vezna caliber goal and a 40 goal scorer for peanuts Sabres that that and rum no guarantee anything there becomes anything close to helle and Connor

To be fair: nothing is guaranteed with your top prospects, but those players are a sure thing.

Helle being a potential 1 year rental kinda ruins it though. Sabres can have potentially 3 (3 out of tage, skinner, cozens, jack Quinn if he takes a leap) 40 goal scorers next year, not sure we would pay that price for another. I'm well aware of who Kyle Connor is and he's a stud but the sabres are building what should be a perennial contender in a few years and they shouldn't damage that for short term success again

As I said: Connor is the best player in the Jets and the Sabres would be buying his prime. He's gonna make Jeff Skinner look very ordinary.

Helly is a great goalie, but you can't get much for a Goalie in this league

I mean... Connor is not a potential... He's the real deal and he will be for a lot of years.

You dont seem to realise that giving up only this for Kyle Connor, who is more of a 50 goal scorer that a 40, would be a steal on its own. Adding Hellebuyck just makes its even better for you. Also says assuming thats Hellebuyck resigns

Even if the Jets decide to rebuild, there’s no way Morrissey is getting dealt. He’s probably going to be the Jets next captain

Dubois will cost nothing in the summer of 2024, so why give 3 first-round picks

I think the Sabres need to add a bit for both of those guys.

Would probably want some prospects in that Habs trade.

He's really not made of glass, getting kneed by Orlov and a groin issue isn't being made of glass.

I'll take my chances with Levi. Helle looks done, and we don't need anymore scoring.

But... That would be such a waste. He'll keep you in games you will want to lose and he'll waste the return you would get on him.

Plus, we're not in win now mode yet, we can't even make the Playoffs this year. Levi, the 23 1rst and Kulich (I know not in deal) + Savoie, are worth more to us than K.Connor. I don't really think it's worth it for Helle. We'll be in win mode, when Levi is up in Buff.

Levi is not gonna hit the ground running. He needs 3 years?

Saying that Helle looks done is probably the most idiotic statement i've ever heard, I can't even process that a living organism who walks everyday on the same planet as me thinks that using his brain.

We don’t need anymore scoring? Are you not on the outside looking in on the playoffs, never have enough scoring this day and age

Interesting offer. I don't think we are there yet. We are a disaster in our own end- and it's not just olofsson and mittelstadt, our bottom 3 d could all be upgraded, and all of the forwards need to be better. The centers are still a work in progress. That's not an overreaction from getting blown out on Thursday, the Sabres hand out high danger scoring chances like Halloween candy. Going to get a great goalie to help cover up these frequent and awful defensive lapses feels wrong.

He's been above league average in save percentage every year except his sophomore season.
He's not far below Vasilevskiy and the difference is easily attributed to the strength of the teams.
His quality starts this season are highest of his career, while his win percentage is the lowest (outside his sophomore year).
His next contract is definitely going to have strong potential of turning bad but he doesn't have an extensive injury history, which helps.

Buffalo might not get enough years out of him to justify the trade. Better fit on an aging team looking for a goaltender for a few more runs, than a young one just re-entering the playoff picture.
