Lafrenière Is a kid that has been lackluster since being drafted by the Rangers. I personally think Ranger suck at developing talent. He is currently a .42ppg player career and this year he’s at .5ppg. Idk if they would ever move him but if he asks for 4m they might consider moving him?

I think you’re doing the rangers a pretty big favor here.

I agree but I always try to take the other teams feelings into consideration. Imo I don’t think he’s worth this much but I assume the fans will likely be angry and say he’s untouchable or that’s not enough.

I feel like the hawks would make this trade if it had a second. Not sure how Mantha has been lately, but from a pure moving cap perspective I think it costs more.

The Rangers can develop talent at D and G just fine. They just suck at developing forwards.

I like all of these, think it would cost slightly more to get out from Mantha if moving him to a rebuilding team.

    Good trades
Maybe a 3rd seems light to take on Mantha’s contract but CHI will flip him half retained at the 2024 TDL for a 2nd probably
It would be good assets management

He had a two point night yesterday against the Isles, but outside of that, and in comparison to his cap hit, he has been pretty meh this season. I think you are right about the 2nd, but I wouldn't be upset if it was a 3rd. He definitely isn't any sort of long term solution for CHI and his actual salary for next season is $6.5M, but I think he still has some possible upside and would be productive enough to not be considered a pure cap dump.

NYR don't need any favours from Washington Capital fans. But nice of you to offer it

So my thought process is that with better ice time he would/ could potentially up his value by 2024 deadline. I imagine one of the bottom feeding teams would be willing to take a 3rd for him knowing that he would bring some type of return at the deadline. There isn’t any real risk basically getting a free 3rd round pick + whatever he gains at the deadline. He had 23p in 37gp last year roughly 50p pace. I think his size + potential upside keeps his price lower (hopefully) lol

It’s the cap hit that really kills any sort of deadline flip deal. A similar case to Sean Monahan. The best compensation we would be getting for Mantha is likely in the initial cap dump trade. Best I could do is latest of the 2025 2nds/

Isn’t Monahan injuried? I feel like that’s what killed his value? Mantha at 50% would only be like 2.8m? That’s not a massive cap hit at all. Let’s say Mantha scores at a pace like last year …50p/82gp. Not unthinkable given more ice time. Could probably get a 2nd / 3rd + prospect. Add that on top of the draft pick you already got. Doesn’t have to be the Hawk could be whatever team is willing to take him for the least amount.

Yes. Bc Laf has been so good that a top 10 pick + is laughable. Lol 😂. What happened to Kravtsov or Andersson? Did your GM lol when he moved them for massive returns? Oh wait? What happened there ?

Why do you want him then? And what do any other players have to do with Laffy? What is laughable is you, and upset the caps will be watching the Rangers in the playoffs this year. Waaa Waaa

Rangers haven’t won a cup in 3 decades. Lol they’ll likely lose in round 1 or 2. Meanwhile capitals have started a retool where they turned Orlov into Sandin + 2nd. I said the Rangers are terrible at developing talent. Laf could become elite but not there. Same reason Leafs moved Sandin. Feel like this was well explained seems like you don’t read lol

Your "reading" is total nonsense, just like you. Enjoy watching the no good Rangers in the playoffs while the caps play golf. Waa Waa

Not a lot of teams are going to be able to/want to absorb Mantha’s full cap hit, and those who could may be scared off by the real money value going up this year. Chicago is a good fit, but I reiterate that it would take a second and selling us on his totals from the season before now isn’t going to go far in my opinion. Hopefully the teams get something worked out though.
