I dont think he says no, late 1rst rarely turns out into something and you guys are in win now mode.

Eddy can be a great 3rd pairing guy who plays physical, brings leadership and can play top 4 in the case of injuries for 1,7 mil is actually pretty good. We have seen this kind of trade, like when TBL gave their 1rst for Savard (they won the cup as a reminder)

1rst rounders are the most overvalued assets in the NHL, specially when its in the 25-32 range. Its basically trying to find a needle in a haystack at that point. Rangers wouldnt turn down a garranted asset who helps them win now over a maybe who could be something in 5 years, when Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider and Trouba are all 35+ years old

If Philly is entering a long rebuild, as has recently been suggested by Brière they probably want to sell high on Hart as he's unlikely to re-sign for his prime and he doesn't fit the window.

What the hell are you talking about? He has 7 points over 45 games and is a minus 18. Nobody is giving up a 1st for that, I mean nobody. Name one team who trades a 1st in a deep draft for a 3rd pairing defenseman?

Ahhh yes, evaluating a defensive defenseman on points on the team with the 28th ranked offense. And we all know plus minus isnt a reliable stat. And like I pointed it out in my recent comment, Tampa did with david savard, Florida gave up even more for Ben Chiarot, Philly giving up a 14th overall and a 2nd for Ristolainen are some notable exemple of the top of my head. We can also look at all the 3rd liners who fetched 1rst rounder + other assets.

Rangers easily turn it down. They have plenty of depth on D as is and would just sign Mikkola after this season rather than give up anything to get Edmunson. Drury wouldn't even consider it.

Those are notable examples of terrible trades by the then GMs of Florida and Philadelphia, it worked out for Tampa but they could've found a serviceable 3rd pair dman without giving up a 1st.

Seems fair for PLD, I'd do it if I was Chevy, might try to negotiate for a different prospect then Struble as the Jets are full at LHD but its fine otherwise.

Hart is 24, goalies primes are later, if that gm is smart, check the goalie box and offer up 8x 6 or less and get hart done for rebuild and good again flyers.

And how dis it work our for them?

Not every or any GM going to make that mistake. Also Charoit had better offensive numbers than Edmunsson. Not defending that trade but, you are looking at a deadline deal and an off season deal which are definitely different.

I’m not saying it was a good trade; you asked me to

That's getting pretty close for Dubois. i just doubt the Jets would have any interest in Dvorak; as the Jets don't really need a more expensive and worse version of Lowry.

Strudel as an LHD also holds no value to Winnipeg. However, swapping those players for picks or similar prospects that the Jets need could work.
