Anton Forsberg will be 31 years old at the start of next season, and no one considers him likely to suddenly blossom into a starting goaltender. He and an over-the-horizon second aren't sufficient compensation to a contending-now team for a top-4 right-handed defenseman under team control for multiple years. In fact, I can't imagine Los Angeles being interested in trading any one of our NHL-quality defenseman (and that includes Jordan Spence and Helge Grans) for that package.

Cap will increase, their buyouts (nearly 3.5 million) will end, and Norris is easily moveable if Pinto continues to develop. It'll be difficult, no doubt - but doable.
