Murray is a cap dump. He was a cap dump when you got him, has been the exact same goalie as he was last year, and remains a cap dump

By the same goalie you mean a good goalie that can't stop getting injured?

I hear a lot in the Toronto media about whether or not Murray will be any good and how you never know but that's kind of funny where did Murray not being good come from?

He's always a good goalie when he plays from where I'm seeing he's just not able to stay healthy whether he can figure that out who knows but it's clear he can play the position just fine.

It's interesting makes me think of Carter Hart definitely accomplished nothing in his career but for about 3 years was constantly injured and clearly a solid goalie very bad team like always in Philly but Hart still very good.

Quick injury issues still proving he's great, I actually have a theory that goalies like Murray in Ottawa, price in Montreal, quick, Gibson, Hart the list goes on they get over worked and their so good even hellebuyck has dealt with it and then they suffer injuries constantly because they have such weak teams in front of them.

How often has vasilevsky been injured, bobrovsky use to get hurt in Columbus a lot and everyone questioned if he was good enough but he's been pretty healthy in Florida.

They say there's not many elite goalies these days, the same good goalies are out there but they get smothered by the bad play of the teams in front of them, just like what Demkos dealing with now also.

Personally I wish the Leafs could keep him, if it's settled that O'Reilly doesn't stay then I say keep Murray right there or maybe they can figure out how to keep both. I think Ottawa would have been better this season with Murray but it was clear he wanted out of that organization it was a bad partnership.

Sorry but sharks would obviously decline.
both players could rebound get healthy and be solid, but neither has a high ceiling anymore and both come with long injury history that destroys players careers. and sharks aren’t going to be good for a while so for them the picks are more valuable.

By the sounds of that if I'm hertl or couture I'd be running for the hills

Couture is kinda stuck, no one wants that contract without retention and sharks shouldn’t retain on a deal unless the get a big return. Hertl wants to be here for the rebuild but i can almost guaranty Karlsson will be gone.

If it was possible I would say there’s a negative percent chance the sharks, a rebuilding team, give up two 2nds and a 3rd for a injury prone backup and a bust prospect

I think Karlsson is the least likely to leave, he also stated he really loves losing in San Jose and wants to lose there long term especially while he sky rockets his personal career and bank account but he can bring up young guys, but them dinners, show boat them how to play in the show and all that.

If Erik is moved %10000000 San Jose retains money on his deal. Couture at $8M I think is reasonable for more than a few teams but I think San Jose rebuilding would eat up to %50 anyways with a pick going back or prospect.

I think rebuilding teams can definitely give up drafts for prospects just depends on what picks the team has definitely want to have a good bag of picks still...Arizona is lucky to have Hayton, Keller, Crouse and a few good young players otherwise I'd move some picks their draft log for the next couple years just looks embarrassing at how many picks are in it.

Oh but as I forgot to mention Arizona will be getting Bedard and be active buyers at next year's trade deadline anyways...Arizona is due for their time in the spotlight, new building, new contending team, new revenue, they marketed their team all year to the college crowds, never wearing those terrible all red jerseys again...it's coming.

Couture is 3 years older than Karlsson and while his play is solid he’s going to be 35 next year and most teams would be wary of 8 mil for 4 more years. and sharks won’t retain 50% for 4 years.
Karlsson is 32 and having a career year, plus D age a little better than forwards. we would have to retain 25% and take back a cap dump or two but sharks would be better off long term to move him.
