Gonna have to give something better than that for Frost. Robertson is gonna be a career AHLer imo

Even if you're overly optimistic on the cap rise by $2 million, that's only the difference between retaining Lafferty and replacing him with an ELC. And there are an almost unlimited number of viable alternatives, too.

87.5 million doesn't seem that crazy.

Signing Lafferty to that seems pretty dumb, especially with also giving acciari 2 mil. Lafferty is a very good fourth liner as is acciari. Both are fine 3rd liners. The way the Leafs manage their cap is to find value there.

You also underpaid Nylander. My hope is Matthews is more like 13.6. Highest paid right now is MacKinnon at 12.6. Matthews has made it clear he'll want his value but I am hopeful giving him a full million above the highest is value.

Schenn is not a first pairing defenseman today and definitely not in two years. RO'R will want more. It's optimistic to think Knies will be a #1 lw that fast.

Robertson has all the skill to be a high end offensive forward. He just needs to prove he can do it health wise. He played better than his brother in junior. His bros rookie year was just after his 21st birthday which would have been nick this year if he stayed healthy.

To me for Nick, like everyone else thinks, it's all about it he can make it work at his size, both health wise and and physical dominance wise. I think he is scrappy/feisty enough for the latter. We'll have to see for the former.

He's younger though than most realize as we was literally the youngest player in his draft.

Yeah, most people are overly negative about the youngest prospect in the first round of the succeeding draft (Quinton Byfield).

Jesus, you really comparing him to his brother? You Leafs fans truly are delusional when it comes to your prospects. You probably think Knies is a top 5 prospect in the entire NHL.

Oh and junior numbers are irrelevant in the NHL.

Did you read my whole post or just that one part? I was using it as an example of how his progression isn't atypical and how he compared at that point. I'm obviously not saying he's going to be a superstar. And I personally think Knies is overrated fwiw
