I'd rather keep the assets and see if a young guy can Crack the lineup, resign namestnikov or sign a guy to a prove it deal where they get time that they might not get elsewhere

Also hilarious that you trade for guys so you can bench perfetti like what

Canucks get no value back for 2 top 6 wingers and waste 2 retention slots?

I would take that Detroit deal in a heartbeat.
Canucks don't consider and it's not because the value of each piece going their way isn't there but it's because they don't really have a need for Dillon and Stanley with Hughes and OEL on the left side, not that Dillon wouldn't be an upgrade on OEL.

Canucks decline. We don't need LD, and Garland + Boeser with retention should get more than that.

I'd take that for Detroit as well.

Brutal for Van. Not retaining on both players to get nothing back

OEL is getting bought out this year. If Van was trading a winger to WIN I don’t think they would have any issue taking Dillon back. The problem here is multiple years of retention on two separate players and the value being mid at best. Easy decline, not even close

I don't know if they do a rash buyout this year. If they can at least manage one more year so the buyout doesn't run two more years it would be better. I know the cap might go up but there's a couple years with big hits there plus the length is alot.
