Better this year but Horvat would probably rush the team to compete because of his age. This team has a bright future!

I would much rather have horvat than the picks we got for Hronek for sure.

I feel that first round pick could be more fitting for our timeline than Horvat. Right now that pick is sitting at #17 but could move up if a team like Florida or Buffalo give them the bump from the playoffs.

Gee, I think the Wings are better off having the Isles picks, about 17th overall, the and 8.5m in cap space rather than 4.4m Hronak.

Maybe better this year but Horvat is not worth that contract and we are better off with the picks.

What if Bertuzzi and Vrana played like they did last season.
Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond
Vrana - Horvat - Perron

Why didn't we or anyone else sign Chiasson earlier.

I just like the idea of the known quantity over a pick that we don't even know where it's gonna be. If the Islanders win a playoff round it's going to get even worse.

Before this year Horvat topped out at 60 points...he is a 2C having a really good contract year. Not worth even close to that contract.

Pass on that known quantity for me.

Yes a 60 pt center, id like one of those. Maybe the picks turn into better but maybe they don't we'll know in what 3,4,5 years

We have one already. If we're paying another guy $8M+ he better be an 80 point center.

I feel like saving the $8.5M + $4.4M from Hronek + the 13-18 & 40-44 overall pick makes so much more sense when you factor in the Mo and Ray extension. I realize its a big if, but having an ELC that can contribute 3-5 years fits the timeline better and makes the cap much more advantageous to be able to plug gaps (signing better UFAs and making minor moves rather than giving up top prospects/picks). With a couple more higher level prospects in the system from these next two drafts, I see the Wings making higher level moves for the 24/25 season.

It's worth noting that Horvat went from 1.10ppg in Vancouver to .53ppg in NY
