Ya, unfortunately that Sanheim contract is going to end up worse than AMac's was

I'm sure Dallas fans would jump on getting any positive asset for Ryan Suter, but I also have a feeling they'll stubbornly keep him around.

Partly freeing up cap for TB and getting young, ready now players in Frost and Zamula who are signed cheap and a probable top 10 pick in 2024. Cirelli is the best player of those 3, but his injuries and offensive output this year is not 6.25mil for 6 yrs.

Sanheim bridges the gap as Slavin, Pesce, Skrej, etc... all hit UFA in a yr or 2 and while Sanheim is on a bad deal (whodathoughtit after a career yr, haha), so is Kotkanemi. KK is playing pretty meh on a good team, while Sanheim is playing poorly on a bad team. but its a 3C for 2LD move, but maybe the late CAR 2nd in 2024 is not put in. CAR has cap space but maybe its a 1 for 1?

COL isn’t trading Newhook and doesn’t have a whole lot of interest in bringing a big contract back.

He just inked his 8 year deal, he won't be traded. However hypothetically speaking, Tampa would want Tippett and lots more. That trade is a very bad return for Tampa

Kotkaniemi is on pace for roughly 20 goals, 40 points, is 23, plays the most valuable position in the sport, is a god defensively... his contract is fair value. A shade under 5 mil? Sanheim's is AWFUL. Kotkaniemi has 27 points in his last 35 games

KK deal isnt bad although everyone thinks it is. he started on a really dry spell with 3 points in the first 20 games. Since then he has had 30 points in 46 games and his defense has been very good throughout. Pass on paying over 6 million on a bad contract LHD when LHD can be easily found in FA.

Nailed it. I'd take this in a heartbeat. But, for some reason... Nill won't give him up.
