Canes definitely pass and that offer sheet is just badly constructed. Lafreniere isn't worth 6 mil. If you're going to do it, take the approach Carolina did with Kotkaniemi, overpay in year one to secure the player and then sign him to a long term deal after

what are you talking about? there were tons of rumours that the Canes were really interested in Mantha at the deadline, and probably still will be in the offseason

To get Laf, we're going to have to overpay like this. Otherwise New York would just match the one year contract.

Might not be a popular opinion among Sens fans but I'd do that trade

Use McMichael to improve the bottom-6, use DeBrincat's money and sign a Top-6 forward on the UFA market instead

Pick a good player with that 1st

Not long term. Overpay on a 1 year deal, then you aren't stuck with the cap hit

Waddell confirmed that the only real player they considered up front was Meier. Puljujarvi move was initiated by Ken Holland. Said that on a podcast with Lebrun. Mantha still doesn't help the Canes.

seems like you just haven't done your reading then. you should consider giving it a try, it seems like you could really use it.

Nope, I did all my reading on the Canes at this deadline. They were interested in EVERYONE. Hayes, O'Rielly, Tarasenko, Horvat, Meier, Barabanov, Jeannot, Konecny, Lindholm, Backlund. Larkin, Bertuzzi, Chychrun, Gurianov, Bennett, Boeser, Miller, Garland, DeBrincat... maybe you just need to learn more

well evidently you just didn't look hard enough then. wow you're really out of touch with what's going on with the Hurricanes, eh? that's a bit sad

Nope, I know my team as well if not better than anyone. Maybe you should stop trying to tell me that I'm out of touch with my hockey team and focus on your own shortcomings!

damn you're in some real denial. that's a shame. it's okay, you can work on it while you learn a bit more about the hurricanes too
