It certainly is a fun idea, but I think it would be a very bad utilization of cap space to sink 15 million into one player, even a Matthews, though I have to admit, this roster could do some damage. We are already somewhat overloaded at natural centers, adding Matthews further complicates matters as this roster demonstrates.

I don't think the Montreal trade really makes sense for either side, other than Montreal getting a Quebecois, they are heavy at wing and Anaheim is heavy at LHD.

Pitt deal is fine, though by that time I am not sure they will be adding anyone.

I would love to see Hakanpaa back on the team, I think he would be a great wingman for Zellweger.

How would they not have the money? They have more cap space than anyone.

It’s called resigning players my man

This year alone we have Zegras Terry Drysdale Dostal Comtois plus more and that’s easily 20+ million probably closer to 25

Comtois is expendable, Zegras Asians Terry will get around 8M each, Drysdale won’t sign for much given his injuries I’d expect a 2-3 year bridge deal, and Dostal won’t cost a ton. That should come out to around 20 million. Once a couple contracts come off the books like Henrique’s there will be even more money. Look at how I gave Matthews 15M and there is still a lot of cap space.
