Can't sign Johnson for 3yrs, and I would rather keep the 2nd Rnd pick then do that trade with Montreal. That 2nd will be important this year.

Carrying three goalies isn't a good plan. Levi has to play.....and probably lots of games in the AHL. Sabres might have to sign a UFA goalie (there are lots available) even if for a short term.

I was thinking of giving him the Shane wright treatment. I also believe most UFA goalies are going to want more term - would rather someone as a 1 year stop-gap. Not sure who would be a better replacement compared to Comrie in UFA for 1 year - may as well just keep him in that case.

Would not see the Montembault trade. He’s inexpensive to keep, and has shown great potential for the Habs.

Hugues would keep him unless something very interesting comes their way in an overpayment probably. Comrie and a 2nd would not fit that bill for the Habs.

I know it’s an overpriced deal, but they would need to pay up more like a high first. Again, I know, way too much, but I think Hugues will want that high price to move any player he got off of waivers that are young and represent a future for the team.

Zero interest in that Edmonton deal. Ceci is known well for underachieving anywhere he goes and I don’t want that here
