3 pieces that have no value to the Jets and a 1st is an easy no for Winnipeg.

Dvorak is out with a knee injury and has no value until he comes back and proves he can play. Negative value to Winnipeg. Change him to Beck.

Gurianov is waiver fodder. You can leave him in or take him out, it doesn't matter either way as he has zero value.

Harris as an LHD has no value to Winnipeg. Change him to Roy.

Those changes should make you competitive with the other offers Winnipeg gets.

Trading is a two way street. If you want a good player, you have to give them team a reason to trade that player to you. Offering a collection of pieces you think no longer have any value or potential for your team aren't enticing to anyone.

I'd really like you to realistically explain why this makes sense from a jets perspective. Like actually look at our team and see where our needs surpluses and direction is. This would save so agms being berated for these trades as if due diligence was done to see what makes sense for both sides you wouldn't have @Windjammer on your case about assets that don't fit. Maybe start with just asking what type of assets the jets would need to see if something works rather than just making something that works for you but has no regard for the jets. All in all just try and look from the other point of view and see if it makes sense to do it rather than you doing a deal for the sake of you getting the guy you want.

I agree with the two way street, but next year he will become UFA and he wants to play in is home town, so if the Jets want to get a return the need think about it.

Harris plays Left and Right, they have players in the deal that can play in NHL level and with a two way center of course he needs to be healthy to be available... Harris was a dominant D in US programs and NCAA. He as great skating, vision, passing... Really nice prospect playing in the NHL level at 20 years old for D it's not commend. First pick in 2023 draft none protected!!!

In the circumstances It is a fare return. If not MTL they can wait another year and sign him as UFA.

Here's the thing we already have our lefty playing right in schmidt and with trade protection and his play would have little value and isn't worth it to swap for a guy in Harris who sure is good but doesn't change the needle on defense. The nhl forwards are more just extra for us and do nothing long term. They are nice to have but no value wise for the jets where we have young talent emerging in lambert and others that would be held back for them creating a situation worse than if we never got them. The first is nice but that's about it. See what I mean now about looking at a teams situation to evaluate what a deal could consist of so a deal can realistically make both gain what they need. This is why even tho this deal has value 3/4 pieces don't really do anything and thus create fluff to pad a deal without actually making it better for the team.

Idk why people want PLD so bad, I know he's good but I wouldn't give up players who have good projections that are 5+ years younger

Take the chance on Roy, Beck, Mesar, Harris, Barron before I trade for someone who will be 27/28 before we are good again

Yup, that's exactly the point I try to make when I explain what pieces work for the Jets.

99.9% of the ACGM's here from Montreal fans asking for Dubois are comprised of the same 3 or 4 players from Montreal, that have been turned down hundreds of times by Jet and unbiased fans alike.

I'm hoping by naming some players that the Jets would actually need and consider we might be able to get a discussion going instead of the straight up fan fantasy of getting a good player while giving up nothing of value that most of the ACGM's focus on.

love these winnipeg fans.... you are using up PLD value with each passing year,,,, after this season you only have a deadline chip that wont resign with the team best you get is a late first rounder then.. so be careful how greedy you get or you end up with very little ..montreal does not trade for him now as they dont need him now while they are rebuilfding.. we wait till the dealine and then offer something like a late first if they dont bite we wait till the summer and get him for nothing. Because Dubois has said he want to play for montreal like with patrick kane winnipeg has no leverage... you are not getting a king's ramson for him.... probably they should have loaded up and went for it this year and next but chevy doesnt have the balls.

No Beck. No Roy.

With the Dubois situation WIN is the closest to being a price taker than a price maker. No team will pay a big price for him since he wants out and openly said that he wants to play for MTL.

Sign him for a year and enjoy his last RFA year. Or accept a decent offer like the one just proposed.

Your choice.

No other team will propose a better package. No other team. None. Nada.

MTL is negotiating in a position of strength here. WIN is not.

No thanks. The Jets will trade him elsewhere for a far better package. Montreal has no leverage to influence the Jets one way or the other.

There is zero chance the Jets have to move Dubois for less than he returns as a pure rental as proposed here.

Think Horvat package and add.

He won't sign long-term with a team that you would trade him to at the TDL.

And that's the whole point.

You will get a decent package but not an amazing one.

Teams won't pay a fortune for a pure rental. Horvat is a bad example here as he signed a LT deal with NYI.

The Jets won't trade him as a rental most likely. They'll trade him to a team where he is willing to extend to up the price a bit.

Horvat is a very good comparable as he was traded to the islanders as a straight up rental. There was no guarantee or agreement that he would extend there beforehand.

So, then when you take into account that PLD is younger, better and has a full year of team control as compared to Horvat, Dubois should return a little bit more.

I sincerely wish you to get a good package from another team, but it won't come from Montreal.
