I honestly see Kane staying on a Gio like contract. He wants to be in NY and has already made big coin. He wants cups and legacy at this point imo. 2M or less is what I believe he will stay for just to get the kids paid and have cup chances. It’s not popular opinion on here because “Kane needs his bag of money” and he is certainly worth more than 2M but I think it’s going to be a ring game for him in a big city with bread. It’s only my opinion

he has a limited NTC, he can only limit to 15 teams and I believe that list had to already been given at the prev. July 1st. Considering Nashville was a playoff team, I doubt they were on it. Regardless, I would never get rid of that second 1st rounder to unload Goodrow (who some teams may just take) regardless of getting the 2nd and Trenin.

Maybe if Goodrow only had one or two more years left, but moving up a little in the draft isn't worth losing Trenin and taking on four years of Goodrow's contract.

You may be right about Kane's desires. The other thought is he goes to his hometown Sabres, who are really upcoming team. Imagine the "immortality" he would have if helps the Sabres wins a Cup. Rangers and New York City have had plenty of sports icons, Buffalo not so much.

Agreed. That is the other option we all have thought about too. They are getting close to playoffs. Him and one other piece could push the contender button for sure. Same thing though, I think he takes a small cap hit for it
