Why even make that Detroit deal? I can't see either side doing that. Henrique would be a really nice get though

Detroit significantly improves their offense with Jarvis while still making out with Nikishin and the Canes get a for-sure future top-4 guy in Edvinsson.

Not balking at the value for Rico, but would really prefer a natural wing prospect over a center, or a RHD prospect.

Rees plays mostly LW and is a pest extraordinaire. IMO he's a great fit in Anaheim.

Detroit passes, Not dealing either Berggren or Edvinsson unless it's a major upgrade, And sorry this isn't a major upgrade to our lineup.

Yeah I mean Jarvis and Kasper would be fighting for 2C in two years and I'd personally lean towards Kasper.
Trading away a top 10 prospect and a decent middle 6 winger for a 2nd pairing defenseman and Jarvis just don't make much sense for the Wings.

Jarvis would IMO be the 1st line RW long-term, not the 2nd line 2C. Jarvis only briefly played C in the AHL but he naturally slots at RW. Kasper would get the 2C spot. That's why I thought that he'd be a good fit in Detroit. Jarvis and Raymond would be an excellent 1-2 punch.

Top 2023 Pick-Larkin-Jarvis
Veteran-Kasper-Raymond

Is a pretty great future top-6.

Ah thought he was 2C.

I still doubt they trade their LHD of the future for a RW when they can draft one in this year's draft (who's maybe not as good as Jarvis, but still pretty damn good).

But I mean the Edvinsson-Seider pairing has been in motion since '21 and is undoubtedly going to be one of the best pairings in the league. I think that's something you'd need to be paid handsomely to even consider breaking it up.

Nikishin was the real wildcard in my trade proposal. He's also a LHD prospect and has had one of the best KHL seasons that a defenseman has ever had at only 21. Essentially the trade was that the Wings would get a for-sure offensive upgrade in Jarvis while the Canes get a for-sure defensive successor to our pending UFA classes, while swapping a couple of very high upside wildcards in Berggren and Nikishin and Detroit getting an extra 1st because Nikishin isn't allowed to leave the KHL until 2025.

I just don't think a trade that would be fair in value would be enough to break the future #1 D line. Not to mention Berggren is pretty good.

I personally like the sound of this:
Wallinder (Rogle #1 D, Leads 21U points in SHL) + NYI '23 + Carter Mazur (top 5 in NCAA for goals, not to mention a strong defensive game) for Jarvis and Nikishin.

Basically Mazur + mid first for Jarvis.
Wallinder and Nikishin lateral. (I wouldn't want this, I'm huge on Wallinder's potential).

I don't hate the trade but I don't think Detroit would do it. First off is the actually production of the two forwards. Jarvis producing at 0.49ppg on a really good team in his second year in the NHL, nothing wrong with that. Berggren producing at 0.43ppg on a not very good team in his first year in the NHL, also very respectable. Berggren is one year older so there is that slightness to it. Both players have really good upside but I would give that advantage to Jarvis. Now there is the wildcard in Nikishin. He can't come to the NHL for a few more years and it's not guaranteed that he will ever come over. Obviously I feel if they want to play the best hockey and try and get top dollar most of the higher end talent makes their way here. All that said I don't think a firstk round pick is worth the fact that we would be losing what could be a franchise defenceman in Edvinsson. I think the Canes would be better if use Nikishin and that first to try and acquire a proven defenceman with term would be a better idea for them.

What the hell is that Detroit trade? Nikishin >>>> Edvisson. The caveat is that Edvisson would be available sooner so let's call that a wash in terms of value. So you're giving up Jarvis and a 1st for Berggren?

Edvinsson is worth more than Jarvis without having a full NHL season to his name? Hmmmm...that's certainly a take.

Yeah the correct take, I said to Detroit he has more value. That's also a ridiculous comment. Bedard has more value to whatever team drafts him before playing 1 game for that team then Jarvis does. Logan Cooley played 0 NHL games, bet he has more value to zona then Jarvis does. The list goes on and on

Nikishin is the best defenseman not in the NHL right now. He's setting KHL records. He's the highest-scoring Russian-born defender (in a single season) in KHL history. Trying to argue against it is a take bud, and I love Edvinsson

Straight off of the dome:

L. Hughes
S. Edvinsson
D. Jiricek
B. Clarke
EDIT: Lane Hutson

Nikishin is apart of one of the best teams in KHL history. Obviously, he's apart of that reason, but contributing him as the SOLE contributor of his historic season is just ignorant. I'd rather have any of those 5* defenseman than Nikishin.

Nikishin is enjoying the best season ever had by a Russian KHL defenseman. End of conversation. He's doing that in a mens league which automatically puts him above Hughes and Clarke. Edvinsson just isn't having the same success this year as Nikishin. Hutson is still playing against kids, and Jiricek has had a rough time in the AHL defensively. He's scoring, but not having the same defensive success Nikishin is having in a better league. Trying to say that Nikishin is not the best defenseman not in the NHL right now just shows me you're a clown buddy. Nikishin isn't solely responsible for SKA's season, but he's undoubtedly one of if not the biggest factor.

Man. If leagues were so seamlessly comparable, why aren't people drafting only straight out of the QJMHL since it's so high scoring? Absolutely bonkers take man, but seeing as you're already calling me a clown I see no point in hosting any conversation with you.

I'm not calling Nikishin a bad prospect, but this KHL team was the same KHL team that Michkov was being healthy scratched on. Nikishin is going to be a big part of that success, but if Michkov (a 1st overall in most years) struggles to even crack your line up, it says something about the strength of that team.

Are you braindead? The KHL is a MENS league. The QMJHL is a junior league. They aren't even comparable. The KHL, Liiga, SHL... they're all fairly comparable considering all of the top teams play each other regularly!

Nikishin is the best defenseman not in the NHL. Accept that and move on.

Right right I'll keep that in mind that Caniac2000's opinion outweighs literally anyone else's opinion. You have a preferred name that I can use to reference? Or would you rather me just say "Caniac2000 from ArmChair GM forums"?
