If they win it all

Description
If the Bruins win the cup, I expect Bergy and Krejci to call it a career. From there, I think the team is pretty clearly trying to keep what's left of the band together, but there's no way they're competitive. Start up the rebuild with infusing youth into the roster. I like the fit of Monahan on a 1-year prove-it type of deal. He's battled injuries and a couple of seasons of poor play but when healthy this season he's been good. He could be a sneaky good add for a Boston team killed by the cap due to bonuses.

BOS
  1. Del Bel Belluz, Luca
Additional Details:
Reportedly, CBJ will be looking to bring in a 2LD to their squad. Grizz is one of the best truly second-pair guys in the league, and should command at least a second round pick. Del Bel Belluz was a second rounder last season, and played very well. Might be more worthwhile for the Blue Jackets to move a prospect than an early 2nd round pick in what looks to be a loaded draft class, and I wouldn't complain about bringing in a quality prospect instead of a pick if I were Sweeney.

  1. Forbort, Derek
Additional Details:
Not sure of Forbort's value, nor if the Wild in particular could afford to bring him in, but he's a very valuable bottom four defender and elite penalty-killer. He's from Minny so I figured maybe he'd want to go to the Wild but any contending team will do

I’d be cool with that for CBJ. Would hope he maybe signs an affordable 2-3 year deal with it

I would keep Forbort, I think you're a little high on the Frederic and Swayman deals which would fit him under the cap. If it takes that much to sign Swayman they probably will be forced to trade Ullmark. Merkulov would fill that 2LW role, he's been on fire in the AHL and is probably the best player in Prov right now. No way Lohrei makes the jump to the NHL, if he evens signs this year.

I could also see them trading Coyle as well if they think they can get a Monahan or Compher to sign for cheaper, not that they're better, especially if they try to keep Bertuzzi.

I would also be surprised if Bergeron didn't come back, win the cup or not, I think he would want to be on the centennial team and get his 7th Selke.

Bruins will be celebrating their 100th season next year. I don't see Bergeron retiring until after their 100th season.

I think the Jackets decline the Grzelcyk trade. I'd offer a 5th round pick for Forbert though.
